No Cocoon For This Caterpillar
Posted by T-Steel in American Society, Featured Articles, Livin' Life on January 26, 2009 | 1 Comment
You know my dear friends and enemies, times are tough for us regular Joes and Janes. Many of us are constantly wondering if our job is the next to hit the highway. We wonder how we are going to manage if that happens. And that wonderment is filled with fear, anxiety, and for some, downright terror. I got to hear that terror this morning from a cousin. He currently works for Caterpillar and he’s in bad shape knowing his days are numbered there.

We will be seeing the largest full moon of 2009 tonight my little sky watchers…

If skies are clear Saturday, go out at sunset and look for the giant moon rising in the east. It will be the biggest and brightest one of 2009, sure to wow even seasoned observers.
Earth, the moon and the sun are all bound together by gravity, which keeps us going around the sun and keeps the moon going around us as it goes through phases. The moon makes a trip around Earth every 29.5 days.
But...
I’m back and..

Better than… uh… well… Let’s leave that alone. Suffice it to say, I’m just more content these days than my first turn at blogging from 2004 - 2006. Why more content? Well, I just don’t tolerate as much bullshyt, okie doke, riff raff, and plain old nuttiness as I did in the past. I entertained alot of nonsense for the sake of peace for a lot longer than I care to admit. But not anymore. It’s about me, the wifey, the three kiddies, and a select few on my VIP list. Does that mean I will be an asshole?
HECK NO!
On the contrary, I’m more...
Comcast nuttiness

Once again, Comcast does SOMETHING and I’m without my broadband service for almost three days. This time my cable modem was “locked out” due to a security violation. Huh? When I called technical support about my outage almost three days ago, this is what the technician told me:
“You violated security that’s why you don’t have Internet access.”
When I asked for details (mainliy how) he couldn’t tell me anything. I said I wanted to avoid this in the future and his response.
“You violated secuirity. I’ll have to escalate your account....
Mirror Mirror make me not mad

You ever get really angry, pissed off, and/or stone mad at someone or something, walk past or up to a mirror, look at how you look, and burst into laughter? I live for those moments. Because after you laugh your ass off, the edge is taken off your anger and things seem a little more clearer.
Wonder if looking at a mirror while being pissed off to the nth degree would help suicide bombers get off the destruction angle? HMMM! I don’t see alot of mirrors in the West Bank or Iraq. Could be that simple.
Oh I just need to be slapped sometimes.
Happy Thanksgiving! Ya dig?

To those who celebrate it, of course. Even if you don’t, it’s always cool to give thanks, appreciate, and to just CHILL. I know folks who get stressed on holidays when they are on vacation. C’mon now! Dial yourself down and you’ll be alright.
Regularly schedulued blog programming will continue with flair after the holiday.

Please excuse my sporadic posting as of late. My wife and I are playing host to Thanksgiving dinner this year and we are busy preparing wonderful and edible lovliness. While we’re not the only ones cooking for this dinner, we’re handling some of the Thanksgiving dinner family mainstays (and most of the desserts). So as I wrap things up, I’ll be posting.
Ahh the wonderful smells of the holidays!
Trust: A choice or not?
Posted by T-Steel in Livin' Life on November 10, 2005 | No Comments
I always raise an eyebrow when I hear people say:
I can’t trust anyone.
Not that I’m minimalizing the issue of trust. But to just say that I can’t trust anyone flies in the face of various choices we make in everyday life. For example, millions of us head to various restaurants, stores, shacks, cafes, stands, dives, bars, shops, and pubs in order to satisfy our hunger and thirst. We walk right in, order what we want, and consume it without a blink of an eye. Heck, we sit down, eat, and drink while distressing over trust issues (to ourselves or to a friend). Yet we trusted...
Reading is fundamental!

So like I’m supposed to be blogging about all these important issues. But for some reason, I can’t seem to take my eyes off Robert McCammon’s book Stinger. I’m totally engrossed. I’m even dreaming about the characters in the book. Crazy yet a damn good feeling too. I love reading science fiction, fantasy, and horror novels. After I get done with Stinger, I think I’ll read his book Bethany’s Sin. Looks like a winner.
Uh… Like I was out-of-town!

I think I committed a blog sin. I didn’t tell all of you that I wouldn’t be blogging for a spell since I was visiting relatives in Chicago/Chi-Town/Almost but not quite NYC. And when I visit family out-of-town, I tend to stay away from the ol’ computer (the laptop stays at home). I don’t seem to do it on purpose. I just seem to just follow this rule:
When visiting family that I really like and get along with, I concentrate on that wonderful family experience only.
Now if they were jellyroll heads, arsenecks, sillyfoolz, or downright ignorantz, I would have been blogging...
