We are LEGION!

Well not quite… I have joined the rank of bloggers who only allow authorized commenters only. Although I don’t receive tons of comments, the comment spammers have been busy nevertheless. I use Typepad for authorization. So when click to leave a comment, you’ll have to click the SIGN IN button to login. New users will have to register for a Typepad account (painless). Current Typepad users will only have to sign in once for this blog and will be good (unless you delete all your cookies). Begone comment spammers!
Backups ‘R Us!

The blog may be running slow for a little while or may not be available while I back up EVERYTHING this time. Doesn’t take me multiple times to learn a lesson.
Over a month…
Posted by T-Steel in Blogger's World on March 3, 2006 | 1 Comment
…down the drain! I had the worst MySQL database error that I’ve ever experienced and lost the entire database. I had backups running but they stopped on January 20th. So when I restored the database, I’m minus entries from January 21st to present. Am I mad? Nope. Peeved? Naa. Amused? Very much so. Actually, I didn’t really care for what I was writing the past month and a half (with the exception of a couple of Esther Dyson posts) so this is just the Server Gods way of telling me:
Write the shit you really feel!
Call it a fresh start. No worries. Onward and upward!

The blog may be acting a little crazy for the next day or so. I’m testing some new anti-comment/anti-trackback spam programs. A couple of these are homemade scripts (with the help of a friend who’s a devastating JAVA, PHP, and CGI programmer).
Please bear with me for the next 24 hours. Thanks!
UPDATE: 2006-01-03 22:18:18
Things are working well now. Got a little weird but hey, that’s life. And I upgraded to Movable Type 3.2 while I was at it. I likey! Normal blogging will resume.
Stoopid database problem
Posted by T-Steel in Blogger's World on December 24, 2005 | No Comments
Well, I’m finally able to post after having a database issue that wasn’t allowing new posts. Talk about some weird stuff. But hey, servers are machines. Things happen ya know.
Anyways I’m able to post again and do my thang.
Making my blog somewhere else… HAHA!
Posted by T-Steel in Blogger's World on September 8, 2005 | 2 Comments
I’ve been commenting so much on other blogs I forgot to post stuff on my blog. Imagine that. Hey bloggers, ever done that before? Ain’t it weird? No matter. I catch up starting today.
A spirit in their own right!

LaShawn Barber gives the straight dope about the blogging revolution:
Has the blogging revolution petered out? I don’t like to think so, but the novelty has worn off. That’s not to say blogging itself is wearing out.
Everyone and his mother is blogging. To stand out, individual bloggers will need to “niche blog.
The creepiness just flows…

I checked out the infamous Little Green Footballs for the first time. Uh… I won’t be going back. Also I visited Oliver Willis for the first time. Uh… I won’t be going back. Both sites make my skin crawl. I don’t know who’s more creepy, Charles Johnson and “LGF lizards” or Oliver Willis and Company. Don’t get a Mystic Negro wrong, I do like the occassional spirited political debate but LGF and Oliver Willis bring out some serious jellyroll brains as commenters and rabid left/right nuttiness. Especially LGF.
Maybe there’s something...
Blog work vol. 1

My first official work on the blog. So excuse some missing graphics on the sidebar as I spruce up some things. Things should be back to normal tomorrow.
