It’s China We Love!
Uhh… Japan and Australia don’t want us to “Buy American” (ya know, that little protectionism thing) because, well, THERE WOULD BE A TRADE WAR! Japan and Australia warn on “Buy American,” protectionism By Yoko Kubota TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan and Australia expressed concern on Thursday about protectionism stemming from the “Buy American” provisions in Washington’s mammoth stimulus measures aimed at helping pull the U.S. economy out of recession. Australia warned the move to protect U.S. iron and steel makers would lead to a retaliatory trade...
Obama’s Funny… Aiight??
Always solid brutha David Scott Anderson just says the words “Okay, see… The Obama Administration will be funny” and proceeds to show some funny clips by John Stewart, Jay Leno, and Stephen Colbert regarding the Obama Administration. Folks, good comedians and comediennes have no problem finding humor. No matter how dry someone may appear (President Obama) the funny folks will find something. So don’t fear lovers of The Daily Show and others. Things will keep on rolling along. Besides, President Obama is funny. He’s got the too cool look down so much it’s...
Keeping It Smooth And Classy
Say what you want about ex-President George Bush Jr., but he and his wife Laura Bush have been classy, professional, and very nice in helping President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama through the transition process. Frankly, I’m not one to pile onto ex-President Bush. September 11th was a insanely tough situation to deal with. And he has blundered badly in Iraq and Afghanistan. But he’s not Hitler or even worse Satan. Just stop it. Image courtesy of CNN.com
Joe The Plumber Is Our Vanguard
Pajamas Media has sent Joe The Plumber (JTP) to Israel to give the regular American point of view concerning the Israel-Gaza conflict. Bob Owens of Pajamas Media says all the fuss mainstream media is making about JTP’s assignment is due to fear: Pajamas TV is turning Joe the Plumber into a journalist, and the media class doesn’t like it one bit. Joe Wurzelbacher is in Israel with a television crew in tow to talk to Israeli civilians about the war with Hamas in Gaza, and quite a few journalists — including the author of this media blog — seem personally offended that an out-of-work...
“United 93″ and The Outraged
I got into a heated discussion with a co-worker of mine concerning the upcoming movie United 93 that chronicles what happened on Flight 93 on September 11th. To be honest, he was much more heated than I but I digress. My co-worker’s main point was that Hollywood’s “sickenly liberal bias and lack of morality” is why they would “exploit the heroes of Flight 93 with a bullshit movie so soon”. I replied that there were movies made about World War II during and soon after World War II like Gung Ho! (1943), The Way Ahead (1944), and Go for Broke! (1951). I emphasized...
Voting Rights sprinkled with nuts!
Thanks for the following words and links Faye Anderson: Let’s be clear: It’s an urban myth that blacks will lose the right to vote in 2007. Instead, what’s at stake are key provisions of the act that are set to expire unless reauthorized. I’ve been trying to tell some knucklehead friends of mine that the Voting Rights Act of 1965 isn’t up in air thus putting into the jeopardy the voting rights of we on the darker side of the skin realm. But some of them think President Bush and the Republicans have it in for us. I find it extremely entertaining that a dictator, such as...
Iraq War shuffle n’ shake
Before I start talking futuristics and stuff, I just had to say something about the following article: Hawkish Democrat Calls for Iraq Pullout By LIZ SIDOTI, Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON - An influential House Democrat who voted for the Iraq war called Thursday for the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, another sign of growing unease in Congress about the conflict. “It is time for a change in direction,” said Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., one of Congress’ most hawkish Democrats. “Our military is suffering, the future of our country is at risk. We cannot continue...
Lynching for fun and politics!
Click here and see what the Detroit (Michigan) Mayorial Race between incumbent Kwame Kilpatrick and Freman Hendrix has turned into. Ain’t it grand? Freman Hendrix accuses Major Kwame Kilpatrick for endorsing the ad. Much ado about nothing cause: THEY BOTH AREN’T THE ANSWER FOR DETROIT! Both are equally useless and tired. Neither want to grasp the mass transportation problems in the city. Neither have a concrete vision for the waterfront (there are still “temporary casinos”). Both think a bookmobile will help neighborhoods grow (huh??). And both have filled some local...
Watching the sanity seep out…
I wrote the following in an earlier blog entry about Cindy Sheehan (mother of Spc. Casey Sheehan, KIA in Iraq) : Cindy Sheehan lost her son in a war. Regardless of what she said the first time to President Bush and what she is saying know, she’s entitled to be a little crazy. Not everyone deals with grief the same way. So stop using her! Both sides! ENOUGH! Watching her now, I fully realize that we’re watching a person go insane and it isn’t cool. Heck, it’s ugly. I said she was a little crazy over the death of her son (which I defended). Now this woman is just saying...
Kwame Kilpatrick is…
A punk fool! Why would I say that about Detroit’s young mayor? Because the man insinuated (more like a sucker-punched) that challenger Freman Hendrix has criminals in his family: Mayor’s race: Nasty! Ugly! Kilpatrick-Hendrix debate sets stage for wild election By Judy Lin and David Josar / The Detroit News Incumbent Kwame Kilpatrick and challenger Freman Hendrix traded accusations of incompetence and dishonesty Thursday in a brawling debate that signals a hot and intensely personal run-up to the Nov. 8 mayoral election in Detroit. But what drew the lowest, loudest “ooh”...
