The Right One

Islam, Judaism, and Christianity… Which one is better? Which one is worse? Which is right? Which is wrong? …to infinity!

One of the reasons I could never adopt either of those religions is because they all say they are the way. Which kind of disrespects The Eternal One since all three say they are the way to him. Unless there are three separate dieties. Then things would make more sense to me. Each individual diety is fighting for control of this world along with their faithful followers. That’s more comfortable for me to deal with. But if we all agree there is only one Eternal One, then we have big problems. Someone is right and everyone else is wrong. Hot and cold. No lukewarm here.

But there is one constant in all of this: people! It is we, the people, that move and spread the words across the land and sea. We, the people, take the words and give them the power to kill, uplift, ridicule, threaten, save, make peace, etc. We, the people, are the power and ultimately have the choice of what to do with the words. So does this mean I don’t believe in God? I don’t know whether God exists are not. But I believe in people. And they exist in the flesh and dwell among us since they are us.

I feel, and will probably always feel, that true salvation can be achieved only through the people. Because as warm and fulfilling that the words of faith can make you feel, a person can end your existence suddenly or form a bond with you so deep that the words (any words) can’t describe it. And I call that The Right One.
