Better hit Netflix, girlfriend!
Guess what Flick Chick? Your Horror to end all horrors: Bad scary movies article is quite bad itself. You list these movies: I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998) Alien 3 (1992) Children of the Corn (1984) April Fool’s Day (1986) The Wraith (1986) Uh, excuse me Flick Click. If this is the best you can do when it comes to bad scary movies, you need to watch more scary flicks, chick. That list is positively the WORST bad scary movie list I’ve ever seen. What about Halloween III: Season Of The Witch? Deep Space? Modern Vampires? Better luck next time.
Let’s deal with the absolutes!
Dell Gines has a post about WNBA superstar Sheryl Swoopes coming “out the closet” about her homosexuality. I’ve had the homosexuality converstation with Dell before and he is of the strict mindset that homosexuality is a choice only. I, however, believe that homosexuality can be a choice and/or genetic predisposition. Some choice words from his post: In Swoops scenario, she was happily married for a period of time, got divorced and then made a choice to be with a woman, for whatever reason that choice was made. So lets play the slippery slope game with the pro-homosexual as...
Lynching for fun and politics!
Click here and see what the Detroit (Michigan) Mayorial Race between incumbent Kwame Kilpatrick and Freman Hendrix has turned into. Ain’t it grand? Freman Hendrix accuses Major Kwame Kilpatrick for endorsing the ad. Much ado about nothing cause: THEY BOTH AREN’T THE ANSWER FOR DETROIT! Both are equally useless and tired. Neither want to grasp the mass transportation problems in the city. Neither have a concrete vision for the waterfront (there are still “temporary casinos”). Both think a bookmobile will help neighborhoods grow (huh??). And both have filled some local...
Reading is fundamental!
So like I’m supposed to be blogging about all these important issues. But for some reason, I can’t seem to take my eyes off Robert McCammon’s book Stinger. I’m totally engrossed. I’m even dreaming about the characters in the book. Crazy yet a damn good feeling too. I love reading science fiction, fantasy, and horror novels. After I get done with Stinger, I think I’ll read his book Bethany’s Sin. Looks like a winner.

The Lord’s Throwing Stars…
Even though I never go to church nor am I down with organized religion, I still respect people that do. But what I can’t stand is some religious people pointing out that every bad thing that affects a large number of people is God’s punishment. I overheard two men talking yesterday in Border’s Bookstore about Hurricane Wilma. What they said (and how happy they were talking about it) just stopped me in my tracks: Man #1: Hurricane Wilma will be the one yet. Just look at how many have struck this year. I’ll tell ya again; these hurricanes are the Lord’s Throwing...
Why I call myself a dictator
I’ve received several e-mails asking why I call myself a dictator. I wonder why I do that myself. HMMM! EUREKA! When my wife makes chocolate cake with chocolate frosting (on those rare occasions), I demand chocolate ice cream with it and get it. So there! Actually I know exactly why I’m a dictator. To heck with calling myself one. I just couldn’t resist the urge to mention one of my favorite desserts. TO THE MEAT! The official definition of dictator (via Merriam-Webster Dictionary): 1 a : a person granted absolute emergency power; especially : one appointed by the senate...
Uh… Like I was out-of-town!
I think I committed a blog sin. I didn’t tell all of you that I wouldn’t be blogging for a spell since I was visiting relatives in Chicago/Chi-Town/Almost but not quite NYC. And when I visit family out-of-town, I tend to stay away from the ol’ computer (the laptop stays at home). I don’t seem to do it on purpose. I just seem to just follow this rule: When visiting family that I really like and get along with, I concentrate on that wonderful family experience only. Now if they were jellyroll heads, arsenecks, sillyfoolz, or downright ignorantz, I would have been blogging...
Paving the wealthy way…
“The amount of poverty and suffering required for the emergence of a Rockefeller, and the amount of depravity that the accumulation of a fortune of such magnitude entails, are left out of the picture, and it is not always possible to make the people in general see this.” – Ernesto “Che” Guevara, Marxist revolutionary and Cuban guerilla leader I always found this quote interesting. Yeah, yeah I know all about Che Guevara. And don’t hit me with the “message from the messenger” slant either. Let’s just focus on the words, shall we? In our capitalist...
Why didn’t I build a fireplace?
We Americans who live in winter states better prepare to shell out more dollars for the heat: Natural Gas Users to Take Hit This Winter By H. JOSEF HEBERT WASHINGTON (AP) - Winter heating bills will be a third to a half higher for most families across the country, with the sharpest increases expected for those who heat with natural gas, the Energy Department forecast Wednesday.
