Make a man dream, Aya…

Aya… She takes lyrics like the following:

Nobody knows me…
Nobody knows me like you do.
Somebody said that the lonely side would make you stay,
now that you know you’re wanted.

Burned by the sun today.
My fears have all gone when you stay.

Nobody knows me,
now that I’ve finaly seen the light of day,
now that I know you want this…

…And takes you somewhere else. I don’t know where. Just somewhere else. I’m usually not into artists that sing in those dreamy, breathy tones but Aya has a hold on me. I think it’s because she does her magic on top of some solid jazz, R&B, and house grooves. Heard she turned down several offers to make her first album, Strange Flower. Thank the stars she did. Cause I can already see they would have neutered her sound completely.

Visit her label’s website, Naked Music, for song samples, video clips, and more information. A very well-designed site.

Yo, this is good stuff. It almost sound like early 90’s London vintage (which is a GOOD thing), and her voice so silkly sweet. It’s already been added to my “CD’s to buy in 2005 list!”

Very good stuff, bruh. She’s already been bought.
