The power of pissed off parents

While my two daughters were getting on the school bus today, a driver behind the bus (the only driver) starting honking his horn rudely and gestering wildly. The driver (a middle aged looking white man) then rolls down his window and starts cursing. Saying such lovely things as:

Get those little bastards on the bus!
Fuck these little rugrats!

Now, I’m an extremely cool person but this guy has went too far. Heeding the words of my road dawg Solomon when approaching a car on foot, I walk quickly towards the car, passing the passenger side, slowly walk around the back of the car then I rush up to the drivers side. Guy didn’t even see me until I yell:

You need to calm your ass down!

The dude jumped so high that he hit his head on the car ceiling, knocking his stylish sunglasses off. I immediately step back towards the back of the car (Solomon’s instructions) and watch as this guy looks around wildly. He then opens his car door, red as the devil, and turns toward me ready to start sumthin’. By that time seven other parents have came up beside me along with the school bus driver standing outside her bus glaring at him. You should have seen this guy visibly deflate, get back in the car, and wait until the bus pulled off in stone silence.

We all had a big laugh at the bus stop after he was gone. Pissed Off Parents - 10, Stoopid Driver - 0. I think the Red Bulls he drunk (could see three cans of it on the passenger seat) must have addled his common sense.

I’m still chuckling at the situation right now.

  1. Fifty years ago, the miscreant you describe here would have been pulled bodily out of his car and thrashed in public for his behavior. That might just have been an over-reaction, though I’d find it excusable under the circumstances.

  2. Stone says:

Why are middle aged white men so…..angry????

I’m not surprised that this happened to you. I’ve been on the opposite side of middle aged white male road rage myself, and find it SO hilarious.
