The Checkers’ been checked!

Michael Bowen is tired of hearing about the “checkered past” of the Republican Party:

Beginning today, I don’t want to hear another word about the ‘checkered past’ of the Republican Party. I’m so sick to death of the excuse-making and whinging and fear and distrust. I’m fed up with the conspiracy theories and demonization. I’ve had it up to here with the empty threats and loudmouth posturing.

Any African American who lives in fear of the Republican Party needs to seriously check themselves and determine if they are living under the proper rule of law, because the door of exodus is open. Put Marley on the box and roll to Expedia.com. See, now I’m breathing quickly. I’m not trying to stifle debate or expression, I’ve just run out of patience with the defensiveness and the excruciating lengths to which people will go to ‘prove’ that Republican interests are inimical to black progress.

Excuse while I stifle my approving laughter… AMEN DAWG! See I may not be on the jock of the Republican Party (or Democratic Party for that matter), but the reasons why have nothing to do with the GOP’s “checkered past”. Firstly, most of those “checkers” (don’t get it twisted) are dead and gone. Secondly, as Cobb pointed out, we live under rule of law. So if some GOP folks want to resurrect the glory days of the KKK and ride out and get us Negroes, then they have MAJOR problems. Because the police are going to have a whole bunch of willing Negroes wanting to be deputized. The right to bear arms never sounded so sweet.

Uh oh! Let me shake off my militant wear. Seriously, scare tactics mean nothing in this issue. Republicans don’t have that much juice to crush me or other blacks to oblivion with racism. Besides, with enough money I can buy me a Republican or Democrat to do my bidding. And these days, the phat dollar trumps racism. I just bought some Aryan Nation juice on eBay and paid for it with PayPal. Who says the free market isn’t good for anything?
