Champions the both of them

Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport
They both played their heart out in a classic Wimbledon match. Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport are both champions in my mind even though Venus eventually won. I watched from the opening serve until the point and it was a honor. I don’t usually think like that about sports (even though I played college football). But sometimes we humans do great things while playing a game and it deserves to be recognized and applauded. Those of you who aren’t into tennis (or the women’s game) missed out on a historic match. I’m really happy for Venus Williams. See seemed to confront those mental demons of hers and kick their ass. Not an easy thing to do now matter what the situation or setting. Couple that with the loss of her and Serena’s big sister, Venus’ championship run seems even more impressive. But Lindsay loss with such grace. It was inspiring to see her actually feel good for Venus. The transcending things we can do in sports but not in real life…
