Uhh… Japan and Australia don’t want us to “Buy American” (ya know, that little protectionism thing) because, well, THERE WOULD BE A TRADE WAR!
Japan and Australia warn on “Buy American,” protectionism
By Yoko Kubota
TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan and Australia expressed concern on Thursday about protectionism stemming from the “Buy American” provisions in Washington’s mammoth stimulus measures aimed at helping pull the U.S. economy out of recession.
Australia warned the move to protect U.S. iron and steel makers would lead to a retaliatory trade...
Obama’s Funny… Aiight??

Always solid brutha David Scott Anderson just says the words “Okay, see… The Obama Administration will be funny” and proceeds to show some funny clips by John Stewart, Jay Leno, and Stephen Colbert regarding the Obama Administration.
Folks, good comedians and comediennes have no problem finding humor. No matter how dry someone may appear (President Obama) the funny folks will find something. So don’t fear lovers of The Daily Show and others. Things will keep on rolling along.
Besides, President Obama is funny. He’s got the too cool look down so much it’s...

You know my dear friends and enemies, times are tough for us regular Joes and Janes. Many of us are constantly wondering if our job is the next to hit the highway. We wonder how we are going to manage if that happens. And that wonderment is filled with fear, anxiety, and for some, downright terror. I got to hear that terror this morning from a cousin. He currently works for Caterpillar and he’s in bad shape knowing his days are numbered there.

Keeping It Smooth And Classy

Say what you want about ex-President George Bush Jr., but he and his wife Laura Bush have been classy, professional, and very nice in helping President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama through the transition process. Frankly, I’m not one to pile onto ex-President Bush. September 11th was a insanely tough situation to deal with. And he has blundered badly in Iraq and Afghanistan. But he’s not Hitler or even worse Satan. Just stop it.

The First Slow Dance: FREE!

I slow danced for the first time with a girl in 8th grade back in 1987. Oh I had some earlier attempts but that’s all they were… ATTEMPTS! But the real slow dance came in 8th grade to Deniece Williams’ 1976 hit song “Free”. I still can smell the Guess perfume on the young lady that let me really slow dance with her. Can’t lie ladies and gentleman, it was a positively magical moment. Nice young lady, Guess perfume, and this wonderful song. The memories…
Damn I love this song!

Confidently Embarking On Fresh Errors…

…If we were to grasp the true nature of nature-if we could comprehend the real meaning of evolution-then we would envision a world in which every living plant, insect, and animal species is changing at every instant, in response to every other living plant, insect, and animal. Whole populations of organisms are rising and falling, shifting and changing. This restless and perpetual change, as inexorable and unstoppable as the waves and tides, implies a world in which all human actions necessarily have uncertain effects. The total system we call the biosphere is so complicated that we cannot...
Joe The Plumber Is Our Vanguard

Pajamas Media has sent Joe The Plumber (JTP) to Israel to give the regular American point of view concerning the Israel-Gaza conflict. Bob Owens of Pajamas Media says all the fuss mainstream media is making about JTP’s assignment is due to fear:
Pajamas TV is turning Joe the Plumber into a journalist, and the media class doesn’t like it one bit.
Joe Wurzelbacher is in Israel with a television crew in tow to talk to Israeli civilians about the war with Hamas in Gaza, and quite a few journalists — including the author of this media blog — seem personally offended that an out-of-work...

If skies are clear Saturday, go out at sunset and look for the giant moon rising in the east. It will be the biggest and brightest one of 2009, sure to wow even seasoned observers.
Earth, the moon and the sun are all bound together by gravity, which keeps us going around the sun and keeps the moon going around us as it goes through phases. The moon makes a trip around Earth every 29.5 days.
